Is it ok for a dog to drink in a toilet?

My dog got thirsty and went to the bathroom to drink from the toilet. He is not big enough to reach the water then my other dog imitated what he did but couldn't reach the water either. My dog is already as tall as my knee and growing up fast and soon big enough to reach the toilet water. If he drinks from the toilet, will he be sick?
